Anzolo Fuga
Shallow bowl with colored bands
Arte Vetraria Muranese (AVEM)
Italy, ca. 1956
Lattimo bowl with green and lavender bands
8" l, 7" w (20.5, 18cm)
Anzolo Fuga was a stained-glass artist first and foremost, and he brought a very distinctive style to AVEM which catapulted them to the forefront of Murano glass production. His style often featured transparent glass framed in opaque glass acting as a pseudo stained-glass window. This bowl exemplifies both his and the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic of the fifties.
Excellent condition. Wear to the base congruent with age.
