Arte Vetraria Muranese
Amber soffiato vase
Italy, ca. 1933
Amber colored ribbed soffiato vase with applied clear handles
9 7/8" h (25cm)
Arte Vetraria Muranese was founded in 1932 by a group of members from Successori Andrea Rioda, well known for its quality glass production. These members, including Galliano Ferro and Emilio Nason, brought their technical abilities and eye for design to this new firm and were able to quickly solidify themselves as a quality producer on Murano. This soffiato vase, blown in the modern aesthetic of the period, represents some of AVEM's earliest production. The vase retains its original blue foil label on the base.
Excellent condition. Very minor mineral build up at the bottom.
