Soffiato vase model 5805
MVM Cappellin & C.
Italy, ca. 1926
Pagliesco colored glass with soft ribbing
6" d, 5 1/2" h (15, 14 cm)
Carlo Scarpa assumed the Artistic Director role of MVM Cappellin & C. in 1926 following the departure of Vittorio Zecchin. His early designs in soffiato glass followed the modern path that Zecchin had already paved. This beautiful vase features soft ribbing and a delicately cinched body sitting atop a very large and flat foot. It is signed with the acid stamp of the retailer Compagnia Venezia Murano, the CVM Crown stamp.
Excellent condition.
