Sfumato Corroso Decanter
Vetreria Artistica Galliano Ferro
Italy, circa 1960
Blue to green stumato motif with Corroso surface finish
11 ¼” h (28.5cm)
Galliano Ferro, along with his two sons Giorgio and Pietro-Luigi, started their own company named Vetreria Artistica Galliano Ferro in 1955 after leaving Arte Vetreria Muranese (AVEM). They continued the general AVEM aesthetic, as well as offering many new and interesting articles. This decanter is part of the latter, and is executed in a blue and green sfumato décor with a corroso surface finish. It retains two original labels, the round gold Vetreria Artistica Galliano Ferro label and a Raymor export label. Raymor was a significant exporter of fine Italian wares and had a large presence in the United States.
Excellent condition.
