Vetreria Aureliano Toso Italy, ca. 1940 Red and white reticello glass with applied handles 11 3/4" h (32.5 cm)
Dino Martens designed for Vetreria Aureliano Toso from about 1940 to 1963 and was famous for his work with glass canes. This particular vase shows a wonderful, and seldom-seen, red and white crisscrossing cane motif called Reticello. It also features two applied handles that contain gold leaf. This is a wonderful example of early Dino Martens design work, and in a very sumptuous decor that's finely executed.
Excellent condition.
