This early Navajo ring is truly a standout with its bezel set marquise Turquoise flanked by two silver spheres and framed with fine metal work. The bezel is of the earlier type, a bit thick and crude, while still being beautifully executed. The ring has a four-part split shank that creates the frame of the piece. This ring is shown in a famous book on southwest Native American jewelry and I have made reference to that below.
Reference: Indian Silver Jewelry of the Southwest 1868-1930, Frank and Holbrook, p. 200 shows a ring of the same type.
