Ercole Barovier was a leader in the modernist aesthetic movement on Murano, and his designs have become some of the most collected in the field. This vase is part of his design work and features an aventurine body with an applied lattimo spiral that has been combed vertically to optically distort the decoration. It features two clear applied handles and disc base. This shape and décor pairing is rarely seen.
Very good condition. A minor heat check surface crack, happened in the making, where one handle is attached. It is only discernable under very close inspection and in the right light.
