Artistica Soffiera e Vetreria Barovier, Seguso, & Ferro Italy, 1933. Green cased glass vase with applied collar 10" h (25.5cm)
The firm of Barovier, Seguso, & Ferro, precursor to Seguso Vetri d’Arte, was very influential on Murano and employed many renown glassblowers including Alfredo Barbini and Archimede Seguso. They were known for extremely fine production and interesting designs. Offered here is a large incamiciato vase with an applied collar. Incamiciato glass was immensely popular in the thirties on Murano with the advent of the Novecento design period, and few are more connected with that style of glass than Barovier, Seguso, & Ferro. It is signed on the underside with the two-line acid stamp < MADE IN ITALY>.
Excellent condition. A couple minute open bubbles congruent with incamiciato glass.
