Flavio Poli
Sommerso vase, model 9547
Seguso Vetri d'Arte
Italy, ca. 1953
Sommerso glass vase in teardrop form
5 1/4" h (13 cm)
The name Flavio Poli is synonymous with good design, particularly in the Mid-Century time period, and few series are more iconic than his line of Sommerso glass. While he generally focused on symmetry for this series, this particular vase is a beautiful deviation from that design attribution and is a continuation of his aesthetic. Model 9547 dates to 1953, but the color combination of Rubino-Violetto dates to 1961, making for a rare pairing of a later color combination with an earlier form.
Excellent condition.
