Flavio Poli
Sommerso vase, model 11731
Seguso Vetri d'Arte
Italy, ca. 1957
Sommerso vase in flat circular form
5 1/2" h (14 cm)
Seguso Vetri d'Arte was highly regarded for their supreme quality in the production of this even-style of sommerso glass. Paired with the wonderful designs of Flavio Poli, and you have a perfect combination. This beautiful vase design was penned by Flavio Poli in 1957, but it is found in the seldom-seen color combination of Rubino-Violetto which dates to 1961. This vase presents the circumstance of an earlier design paired with a later color combination. This particular form is among my favorite, as it really showcases the perfect execution of the glass technique.
Excellent condition. A few light surface scratches from handling, none of which detract from the piece.
