Pulegoso Induto vase, model 6240
Seguso Vetri d'Arte
Italy, ca. 1939
Red bollicine glass internally decorated with gold leaf
6" h, 8 1/2" w (15.5, 21.5cm)
Pulegoso induto glass, also referred to as bollicine, was wildly popular on Murano during the mid and late thirties. As seen in this vase, gold leaf was often incorporated as well as a ribbed surface applied, giving it a very refined sculptural appearance. Flavio Poli used this glass type in a variety of different models and it proved to be wildly successful. The large size of this piece is particularly rare.
Excellent condition.
