Sommerso vase, model 9434
Seguso Vetri d'Arte
Italy, ca. 1953
Sommerso glass vase in verde-giallo
8 5/8" l, 4 1/4" h, 4 3/8" w (22, 11, 11 cm)
The post-war period in Murano was a particularly prosperous time, and the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic was going very strong. This low vase is a perfect example of this new design aesthetic, stripped of the superfluous and produced in the popular sommerso glass technique. The color combination is verde-giallo and the glass technique was expertly done. No doubt executed by Angelo Seguso.
Very good condition. Light scratches to the front and back, only visible upon close inspection, and slight traces of wear to the interior. It displays very nicely.
