Fulvio Bianconi
A canne pitcher-vase
Venini & C.
Italy, ca. 1950
Lattimo and gray fused canes
10 3/8" h (26.5 cm)
Fulvio Bianconi was one of the most revered glass designers of the twentieth century. His longstanding design relationship with Paolo Venini resulted in some of the most popular Mid-Century Modern glass series. They were very popular in period and continue to be immensely popular with collectors today. This pitcher-vase was created in wide canes of lattimo and gray glass and then delicately blown and formed into this beautiful modern shape. This model is particularly rare, and I could only find evidence of one other example showing up in recent years. It is signed on the base with the Venini three-line acid stamp <venini murano ITALIA>.
Excellent condition. Very light scratches to the body consistent with minimal use.
