This ring has a lot going for it in terms of design, construction, and materials. Each row of turquoise sits atop a separate silver plate that has been cut to mimic the shapes of the stones. Each row of three stones is then connected with a piece of twisted wire, and the curved manner in which these elements were soldered make this a very comfortable ring to wear because the curvature matches the wearer’s finger. The wire appears to be hand-twisted as there are variations in twist density. There is a three-part split shank with a thick band, and the interior of the ring shows craquelure from the hand-hammering of a silver ingot.
As mentioned above, there looks to be a trader’s code of “WHF” inscribed to the underside of the center plate with each letter being in one section of the plate. Lastly, the reason I feel this could possibly be Zuni is because of the 3x3 row design separated by twisted silver wire.
