The Tiffin Glass Company produced high quality art glass of a modern aesthetic beginning in 1938, and culminating in 1980 upon their closure. Over those years, models, colors, and decor types were added and removed, keeping up with current tastes. The Tiffin Glass Company even hired glassblowers from various well-known Scandinavian glass houses to ensure their product was top notch in both design and execution. The vase seen here is part of a particularly rare series that dates to 1942 only. The body of the vase features a cobalt blue base with an applied opal white combed, or pulled feather, motif. It has a beautiful crystal sphere connector which sits atop a large cobalt blue disc base. Given the very short period in which this series was made, examples are notably scarce on the market.
