For me, this mighty ring exemplifies early twentieth century Navajo silversmithing. The band has areas that are cut in and that sculpted design accentuates the raindrops and bezel adding immense interest to the ring. The raindrops are achieved through the repoussé technique (bump out), and each pair is flanked by a stamped motif. The dark green turquoise, probably Cerrillos, sits in a wonderful, serrated bezel with wide, tall teeth. The aesthetic is exceptional. Another noteworthy construction detail is the lapped band which closes at the top. I rarely see this method of construction, and when I do it is on a very early ring such as this. If this ring is too small of a size for you, consider wearing it on a chain as a pendant or adding it to your curio cabinet.
