Italy, ca. 1915 Light blue cased glass vase with applied yellow rim 6" h (15cm)
Known for their doblé, or incamiciato, glass production in the teens and twenties, Fratelli Toso offered a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and in a multitude of colors. The base lattimo glass was cased in transparent colored glass to give an opaque colored glass effect. Oftentimes, design elements would be added in black glass or other colors, as we see in this vase. The color combination here of light blue and yellow is seldom seen.
