Incamiciato (cased) glass in fun, bright colors was very popular at this time and was produced by a select few makers. To get the opaque look, the glassblower would use lattimo (milky white) glass and overlay a transparent color, resulting in the look of opaque yellow, in this case. What is particularly neat about this vase, is even the contrasting details are cased, lattimo cased in transparent mauve. The form is a classic flask shape with a wide, flat body and an applied collar. The decor type and applied detail took a talented glassblower to execute.
Excellent condition. An extremely tiny flea bite to the inner rim.
