Vittorio Zecchin
Veronese vase, model 1633
VSM Cappellin Venini & C.
Italy, ca. 1921
Monumental soffiato vase with narrow opening
14" h (35.5 cm)
The Veronese vase, easily recognizable and immensely beautiful, is arguably the most important vase design of the twentieth century. It symbolized modernism and put Murano glassblowing back onto the world stage. Designed by the esteemed Vittorio Zecchin for the short-lived firm of VSM Cappellin Venini & C. in 1921, this piece of glass history can be found in museums and important glass collections worldwide. Standing at 14 inches tall, it is one of the largest examples produced and is incredibly rare. It is unsigned, as expected. VSM Cappellin Venini did not use a signature or acid stamp.
Very good condition. Slight traces of minerals to the interior, only noticeable upon close inspection.
This vase ships within the USA only.
