Around 1950, Paolo Venini started looking back at his company history for inspiration. He pulled models penned by previous designers but executed them in a current glass décor. In this case, this vase is a Vittorio Zecchin shape, model 1474 dating to 1921, but it is executed in a very detailed Zanfirico cane motif that was used in the early fifties. The results are a very modern interpretation of a very classic form. The three styles of Zanfirico canes are incredibly detailed and are truly the work of a master glassblower. Per Venini documents, the cane styles are A, L, and N.
